ENERGY DATA MANAGEMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY EXPERTS
Our consortium is composed of seven partners from five different countries.
The members have been selected for their expertise in:

Diane von Gunten
Co-responsible for R&DDiane is the co-responsible for R&D at CREM. She holds a bachlor degree in physics, a master degree in environmental science from ETHZ, and a PhD from the University of Tübingen (Germany) in the field of integrated environmental modelling. She spent two years as a research engineer developing software to support dam management before joining CREM. At CREM, she is responsible for planning integrated multi-energy networks and energy modelling in general.
Jakob Rager
DirectorJakob holds a doctorate in science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) and a master's degree in economics and industrial engineering from the University of Karlsruhe (KIT). In 2015, he successfully presented his doctoral thesis on the optimisation of an urban energy system. Passionate about the analysis of complex energy systems in a holistic manner and from a sustainable development perspective, he has been Director of the Centre de recherches énergétiques et municipales (CREM) in Martigny since September 2016. At the same time, he is a member of several working groups and a lecturer in universities of applied sciences.
Cédric Serugendo
R&D engineerCédric holds a master degree in engineering sciences with focus on sustainable energy. He is part of CREM as a developer and R&D engineer.

Non-profit association created in 1986 in Martigny, Switzerland, active in research and development in the field of urban energy management. CREM is intended to be a privileged interface between R&D, municipalities and the industrial sector in particular by consolidating a network of multidisciplinary skills focused on sustainable development.

Simon Pezzutto
Senior Researcher
Simon is an engineer with a background in energy economics and managing various work packages and tasks of Horizon 2020 projects.
Sonia Gantioler
Senior Researcher
Sonja is an interdisciplinary researcher with a background in environmental economics, energy policy and goverance. She will be responsible for tasks on capacity building of public administrations and involving policy-makers.
Pietro Zambelli
Senior Researcher
Pietro holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering. His research interest include mainly a spatial-based modelling of the energy system at urban and regional scale. He contribute in several open-source and open-data projects.
Silvia Tomasi
PhD candidate
Silvia is a Researcher at EURAC’s Institute for Renewable Energy and a PhD candidate at the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano at the faculty of Economics and Management, where she investigates social innovation as new governance approach in the energy transition
Eric Wilczynski
PhD Student Researcher
Eric is a PhD student researcher at EURAC’s Institute for Renewable Energy with an interdisciplinary background in energy economics, spatial analysis, and climate policy. He is interested in research related to regional and urban climate and energy issues.
Jessica Balest
Post-doc researcher
Jessica holds a master degree in society and environment, and a PhD in Land, Environment, Resources, and Health. Using her sociological background, she is interested in understanding the dynamics of energy transition, promoting and strengthening the role of the society.

Jérôme Kämpf
Senior Researcher
Jérôme leads the Energy Informatics group at the Idiap Research Institute. He holds a master’s degree in Physics, in Computer Science and in Teacher Education, and a PhD on the modelling and optimisation of urban energy fluxes. His interests are related to smart buildings and cities, with more than ten years of experience in research.
Giuseppe Peronato
Post-doc researcher
Giuseppe joined Idiap as a postdoctoral researcher in the Energy Informatics group in September 2020. He holds a PhD from EPFL (2019) with a thesis on urban photovoltaic potential, and Bachelor and Master degrees in Architecture from Iuav University of Venice (2011 and 2014). He has previous experience as a postdoc at Uppsala University, and as a energy and climate consultant in a building engineering firm. His research interests are at the interesection of geoinformation, energy and urban sciences.

Mostafa Fallahnejad
Associate Researcher
Mostafa holds a master’s degree in Power Engineering from Technical University of Munich (TUM). He is involved in the field of energy system modelling as well as H&C planning.
Lukas Kranzl
Senior Researcher
Lukas is head of the Group Heating/Cooling in integrated energy systems in Energy Economics Group. He works on future perspective of sustainable energy systems with a focus on buildings, heating and cooling, bioenergy, scenario development and optimisation of policy instruments.

Group within the Institute of Energy Systems and Electric Drives at TU Wien focusing on several fields of research, with special focus on renewable and new energy systems.
Alessia Bardi
Researcher
Alessia holds a PhD in Information Engineering. Her research interests include service-oriented architectures, data and metadata interoperability and data infrastructures for e-science and scholarly communication. She is the product manager of the OpenAIRE Research Community Dashboard and responsible for the EnerMaps Open Research Gateway.
Paolo Manghi
Technical Director
Paolo holds a PhD and is a Researcher at CNR-ISTI since 2006, member of the InfraScience research group. His research focuses on data models for Digital Library Management Systems, data curation in digital libraries, and autonomic service-oriented data infrastructures, with special care to the realization and technological transfer of open source software. He is author of several research papers in such fields.
Natalia Manola
Managing Director
Natalia is a research associate in “Athena” Research and Innovation Center and in the University of Athens, Department of Informatics & Telecommunications. She holds a Physics degree from the University of Athens, and an MS in Electrical and Computing Engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She has several years of employment as a Software Engineer and Architect employed in the Bioinformatics commercial sector. She is the managing director of OpenAIRE (www.openaire.eu) since 2009, a pan European e-Infrastructure supporting open access in all scientific results, the coordinator of OpenMinTeD (www.openminted.eu) an infrastructure on text and data mining, and is now involved in the implementation of HELIX, the Greek e-Infrastructure for research.

Marcus Hummel
Senior Researcher & Managing Director
Marcus is a senior expert at e-think. His research focuses on efficient and renewable energy systems, energy economics and policies for space heating and cooling, for district heating as well as for industry.
Giulia Conforto
Researcher
Giulia holds degrees in Energy Economics and in International Relations, with focus on the transition to a sustainable energy future. Her background is in project management and partnership development.

Start-up private non-profit energy research institution aiming to advance research in the field of energy economics at its interface with environment and human society.
Clémence Contant
Communications Officer
Clémence is part of REVOLVE as a Communications & Marketing Specialist. Her specialty is targeting and profiling the correct audience for specific projects with specific needs. She also coordinates REVOLVE’s EU projects by managing communication between partners and ensuring the highest possible standards for the Communication & Dissemination work packages. She has valuable experience in digital marketing for the industry sector and culture heritage businesses.
